Our Mission

Build bridges engaging leaders from industry, academia, government and non-profits – from India, USA and other nations – to achieve sustainable improvements in human health, women’s equity, and planetary health.

Creation of IndUS Setu Global Foundation

“Setu” means bridge in Sanskrit. The IndUS Setu Global Foundation, or simply “Setu,” was launched in 1994 by sisters Priya and Dr. Nandini Tandon, following the initial Setu Conference at Stanford University – to build bridges of collaboration between India, the USA (“IndUS”), and like-minded nations, creating a better and more inclusively equitable future for all.

Setu is a Silicon Valley and Delhi-based, non-partisan, nonprofit foundation. Setu’s ecosystem of engagement includes global leaders spanning private, public and academic sectors, from entrepreneurs to multinationals to non-profits, focusing on achieving improvements and leveraging interplay between human health, women’s empowerment, and planetary health.

Setu hosts and catalyzes non-partisan dialogues between global leaders addressing economic, social, trade, and policy issues. It has led high-powered business, healthcare and bipartisan policy delegations to countries such as India, USA, Israel, and UAE, and has hosted thought leader panels at premier universities including Stanford, Columbia and BHU.

Arising from these myriad programs, Setu adopts certain worthy initiatives, such as early detection of breast cancer, for championship, fundraising, facilitation, and implementation support.
